Make sure that you have your exact server name (just like you type it in the URL) added to the virtual servers tab (not the licenses tab) of the FoxWeb Control Center. I assume that the permission error started after you made changes to your Apache configuration, because otherwise you could not have received the "No program root has been configured for domain...".

Regarding auto-startup, just check the Services applet in Administrative Tools. The FoxWeb service must be configured with startup type = "Automatic".

I think I got it.  This is Win7 and my first use of that.  I gave FoxWeb administrative rights and it installed something and began working.

It still will not start automatically when I reboot.  Must be a simple fix an I hope to get that tonight.

Last issue is a browser message - you don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/foxweb.exe/+my call to programs in c:\foxprograms.

I did the "allow" in apache.  Do I need to do it somewhere in FoxWeb?

I assume that the exact error message is not related to "www.mydomain.net", right? The host name in the virtual servers grid must *exactly* match the server name in the URL. Here's the relevant passage from the documentation:

The server name must match exactly the host name entered in the URL. For example the server name "foxweb.com" only matches the URL http://foxweb.com/ -- it does not match http://server1.foxweb.com/ even if the two are pointing to the same ip-address. The only exception to this rule is that host names starting with "www" also match the corresponding host name without the "www" part. For example, "www.foxweb.com" matches http://www.foxweb.com, as well as http://foxweb.com.

If I'm off about the reason why you are getting this error message, please provide us with the following:

  • The URL that you are using
  • A screen-shot of the Virtual Servers page in the FoxWeb Control Center
  • The exact text of the error message that you are getting

I had added the domain to the grid in the Virtual Servers page.  I should have that a bit more clear in my question sentence 3. sorry.

It seems that you have not added your domain to the grid in the Virtual Servers page of the FoxWeb Control Center. FoxWeb requires that you do so for each different host name or IP address you use to access your FoxWeb scripts. For details please refer to the FoxWeb Configuration page (http://www.foxweb.com/document/Config.htm).

I managed to get everything working on my test computer.  I moved it all to my new computer.
I'm now getting the error:  No program root has been configured for domain "www.mydomain.net"
Line 96
In the configuration I have the program root as c:\foxprograms\ (default) and also in the Program Root.  This is exactly how I had it on the test computer.

Also - On the new computer Foxweb is not automatically starting (Win 7) when I boot up.  Did I mess something up here?
