A reboot solved the problem. Never had to do that before in more than 10 years. If the problem persists I will investigate further.

Have you tried rebooting? There's a lot of troubleshooting you can try to do, including searching and killing stray VFP processes in the Task Manager, but oftentimes a reboot is the simplest solution. The fact that you are seeing FoxWeb trying to start channels every second points to a serious problem with trying to start new VFP processes.

 What causes channelsto not start. I have auto-restart enabled which has always worked but for some reason now I have two dead channels whic will not start even after stopping and starting the foxweb service from the control panel. How do I fix this?
