Subject:  Re: garbled Data
Ok, but still my POST method does not work directly on my browser. It works only if i tried it on another PC or use a software "1st Page 2000" of it's built in preview browser.   I tried uninstalling IIS 5.0 and reinstalling again but the same thing happened.  Now I am thinking of uninstalling IE 6.0  and reinstall IE 5.5   and try it again which is my only "option" of resolving this problem. Any more Ideas?  Thanks!

All FoxWeb samples use the POST method, including the NameSearch script. If in doubt, point your form to show_cgi.fwx, which will always display everything that the browser sends to the server.

I tried the POST method but nothing came out! Yes I changed the "Request.QueryString" method to "Request.Form" method. Anyway   While I was testing this, I found a software called 1st Page 2000 (Evrsort).  It's a HTML and script editing program.  When I run the same program on it's built in preview browser, it outputs correctly, but when I run it on the IE 6.0 browser, it does not work.  Wierd!   By the way also, I notice that when I run my previous program below and click submit, my address bar contains the following:
http://www.commonname.com/find2.asp?cn=LgYbHF0OFQEQU0kVTA
5UR0gPSkZVSEYdHSQOHgkIDz0FCkNHOAwVHUZYBV1EJg0fRDUIFAwTVUc

WllOVlgXC0VRShtHFwRYXRAXRk4bVFpQTHQxMT11CBIRDxVDV2E=&
app=100&vs=3.54&rs=http

the the page displays this:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'CLng'

/bin/n_libEncode.asp, line 21

What do you think?  Does this info makes sense?

TO use the POST method simply change your form tag as follows:
<form method="POST" action="...">

In order to read form fields posted via the POST method you will need to use the Request.Form and related methods.

I did remove and uninstall the IIS, but the results are the same.

From the examples of Foxweb, it always uses "GET" method.  How do you use "POST" method?  Thanks!

Since the problem happens with ASP as well as FoxWeb, it appears that it is caused by your Web server -- not the application processing the data.  I am not sure how you can solve the problem, but reinstalling IIS may help.  Of course you could simply use POST, which is more appripriate for this situation anyway.

I copied your script below and named it TestGet.asp, and I executed the file by calling http://mike/TestGet.asp. And the result is the same:
