That's what I'm having to do at present to ensure the correct data goes into the table.  It would be more user-friendly to place an input format on the field analagous to Foxpro's @! picture clause.  style="text-transform:uppercase" does this, but the posted value is the entered text, not the displayed 'converted to uppercase' text.
